Yggdrasil, the tree of life (Norse mythology). Its many roots and limbs keep all the different worlds together: Asgard, Midgard, Helheim, Niflheim, Muspellheim, Svartalfheim, Alfheim, Vanaheim and Jotunheim. Below its roots there is the spring that fills Mimisbrunnr, the well of wisdom, guarded by Mimir.

The pentacle symbolizes the human body. It represents the human as the potential master of nature, light, air, wind, fire and water; which are controlled by him. In esotericism, it is known as the White Pentagram, and it is a basic protection symbol; a shield that returns evil wishes and curses to its origin. When practicing white magic, it gives protection against dangerous spells.
