Ruby
Ruby is a precious gemstone; its name comes from "ruber", Latin for red. It is the second hardest known material, the first being the Diamond. It is a variety of the mineral corundum, like the sapphire; the only difference between a Ruby and a Sapphire is the colour. Deposits have been found in different continents around the world, and the different cultures that have found rubies have given them different properties. It is believed that ruby facilitates spiritual and sentimental development. It attracts honour and intelligence. It is considered the third eye of Buddha, foreseer of the future. It is called the stone of confidence. It brings good luck in love and in gambling. It also dispels bad thoughts, keeping away sadness and containing lust, and prevents lack of control and aggressiveness.
